Mountain Goats (Oreamnos americanus) are the quintessential Alpine animal. They are perfectly adapted to life above the timberline. Their thick coats, well-balanced anatomy, and splayed hooves provide them valuable tools for surviving the harsh life among the clouds. I titled this piece “Above the Clouds” to emphasize their ability to survive at altitudes above 10,000'.
I was fortunate to find a wonderful photograph of a Mountain Goat by photographer Jonathan Ley. He was kind enough to grant me permission to use the photo as a reference for this drawing. This limited edition drawing is available in two sizes: 16"x20" and 11"x14" frame sizes. Both are produced as archival, pigment-based prints on 100% cotton rag fine art paper.
