For quite a change of pace, I submitted this pen & watercolor piece for the 2006 Riverfeset Poster competition, held by the Montana Natural History Center. Although I didn't win the contest, I was thrilled to receive a 2nd place finish for the competition. I learned a lot about watercolor, especially what not do do... :-)

I plan to do another piece similar to this in the future when my watercolor skills are a bit more refined. See the detailed scans below.
