General George Armstrong Custer

|
This drawing of General George A. Custer took approximately 24 hours to complete and is the third entry into the "Western History Series".
The jacket was the most time-consuming part of the drawing, requiring several layers to build up the realistic texture of the fabric. The face and hat were definitely the most fun part of the drawing. The confident look in the eyes portrays the character of a confident, ambitious officer.
The figure is approximately 6" x 10" and is based on an 1860-1865 photograph taken by the famous photographer, Mathew B. Brady. Custer had achieved the rank of Major General as of this sitting.
